The Skeetchestn First Nation (organization) is a grassroots indigenous organization created by the Brooks and Taylor clans to represent us outside the Indian Act. We’re a proactive approach to self-government using a self-styled clan system to represent families and groups throughout our nation.
While the Skeetchestn Indian Band is an Indian Act entity, the Skeetchestn First Nation is registered as a federal non-profit organization with custom membership, election, and governance laws.
Membership in the SFN is open to all first nation descendants of the Skeetchestn people, though SIB membership is not required.
